Well done everyone! Keep on training!
OUR NEW RANGE OF STEEL TRAINING KNIVES WILL BE AVAILABLE SHORTLY!
WHY STEEL KNIVES?
Over the years, we’ve really had an issue finding Krav Maga training knives that were ‘just right’ for what we needed.
We tried rubber knives. They not only cost a lot (imported, of course), but as time went on, they broke or began to disintegrate under the stresses of hard training.
And then… there was the issue of rigidity. As many of our trainees will confirm, you can’t do ‘lever disarms’ with rubber knives because they’re just not rigid enough and enable your opponent to hold onto them… very frustrating.
Lastly, there’s the question of realism. It’s one thing to play around with a plastic or rubber knife, but if you’re not used to working with actual metal against your skin – and getting used to it – you’re setting yourself up for a crippling fear response in a real self defense situation.
WE’LL HAVE MORE INFO ON THESE SOON!
CHANGING LIVES AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Elite Defence Academy had the privilege of spending some time at the Breaking Free Trauma Support Centre for abused women and children in February.
We taught a personal safety workshop, got to meet an incredible team, and were able to give what we have to those who need it the most.
Huge thanks to Instructor Rob Paynter for setting up and facilitating the workshop!
Adam Strever, EDA Instructor, showing the ladies how easy it can be.
Des Brown, Adam Strever, and Rob Paynter with Nazreen Deans and her amazing team of ladies making a difference in their community.
If you’d like to donate any resources or skills (or money!) to the Breaking Free Trauma Centre, you’re welcome to give Nazreen a call on 072 836 8567.
